Important Notice to Lovers of the Outdoors
British Columbia and Alberta Department of Fish and Wildlife, is advising hikers, hunters, fishers, and golfers to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears while in the forested areas. They advise people to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on their clothing to alert but not startle the bears unexpectedly. They also advise carrying of pepper spray in case of an encounter with a bear. It is also a good idea to watch for fresh signs of bear activity. People should recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings. Black bear droppings are smaller and contain berries and possibly squirrel fur. Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in them and smell like pepper spray.

Weekend Away!

This past weekend was awesome. I was able to visit Bruce, Amber and their new baby Felicity. It was gret to get away for the weekend and relax. We spent time with both their families, ate non-cafertia food and hung out.
Details for those who care ie. Mom and Nicole. On Saturday Amber cut my hair in her new salon (down stairs in her house), we hung out in the afternoon and then went with the VanderVennens to Indianna for dinner at an Amish resturant, I saw some Amish teens (who were obviously dating-breaking rules!) and went in some of the shops near the resturant with Lynn, Bruces Mom. The Sunday we went to church, had lunch with Bruces family at lunch time then dinner with the Potgeters in the evening where we hung out and ate birthday cake! I loved spending time with Ambers family, it's been so cool to be "in and out" over the last 6 years seeing all the siblings grow and getting to know Jazz (the little girl they adopted just before my last visit) Phew! Lots of details. Then Monday and Tues. we did a little shopping and went out to eat for my bday. Can't wait to go back during the Thanksgiving break in November (nothing like getting time off for a holiday that you don't even celebrate!)

These are some of my pictures, mostly of the beautiful baby.

On the way to IN

This was during my birthday dinner at Rio Grand, Bruce was feeding Felicity lemon, she actually liked it.

While Amber was with a client on Monday Felicity and I had a little photo shoot, I have several of these couch pictures it kept us busy until she wanted to eat the camera.

Employment is over-rated!

I was given the opportunity to work for the Alumni Association for 2 weeks. They are holding a phonathon to raise money for ongoing events here at the school. I was quick to accept because I knew it was only for 2 weeks and I could use the money. Well, here I'm at the end of the 2nd night and I've had it. I have no idea how other students can balance their time while working a regular job. Its 9:30 and I have 3 started but unfinished assignments due tomorrow. I just can't seem to get everything done and work four hours a night. On the up side I have leading numbers in the campaign I raised $8,000 in 10 minutes (a record in 15 years). I think they should just give me a cut of my donations and let me call it a night!

Psalm 27-NLT

The LORD is my light and my salvation--so why should I be afraid?
The LORD protects me from danger--so why should I tremble?

When evil people come to destroy me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.

Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will know no fear. Even if they attack me, I remain confident.

The one thing I ask of the LORD-- the thing I seek most--is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
delighting in the LORD's perfections and meditating in his Temple.

For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.

Then I will hold my head high, above my enemies who surround me. At his Tabernacle I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy,
singing and praising the LORD with music.

Listen to my pleading, LORD! Be merciful and answer me!
My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me."And my heart responds, "LORD, I am coming." Do not hide yourself from me.
Do not reject your servant in anger. You have always been my helper. Don't leave me now; don't abandon me,O God of my salvation!

Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will hold me close.
Teach me how to live, O LORD.
Lead me along the path of honesty,
for my enemies are waiting for me to fall.

Do not let me fall into their hands. For they accuse me of things I've never done and breathe out violence against me.

Yet I am confident that I will see the LORD's goodness while I am here in the land of the living.

Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.

Spiritual "Ungiftedness"

We all have strengths and weaknesses but somehow some folks end up lacking important things. I am one of them. I had to take a "Spiritual Gifts" Test this week to write an assignment for my Christian College Experience class. I'm not even taking this class but I still have to do all the assignments in order to someday graduate from here. Come to find out I have several areas that I am actually gifted in, that's the really cool thing about gifts is that everyone has them no matter how dumb you think you are. But gifts can't really be effective if you can't communicate. Yep that's right...on a scale of 1 to 21 I got a 4 on Creative Communication! Turns out, this is the most important quality to have and I'm missing out! I think having an "assessment" tell you that you stink at communication is more insulting than dealing with it. I'm gonna go cry...
