I know this is a long post but please read this and let it encourage you.
It's almost been a month since I've posted. That's almost a record for me. I'm usually a fairly faithful blogger. One thing I haven't been faithful with either is my spiritual walk. Coming from Lincoln land aka the land of the uncultured bubble back home has been an odd adjustment for sure. God gave me a kick in the pants last Sunday and more than a week later I am ready to share how cool the God I serve really is. Last Sunday was my last Sunday serving at the church that I've been at this summer. In July they asked me to give a little devo as the last Sunday would be the youth service. In July God gave me the good ol Sermon on the Mount. I knew that memorization would be useful someday! I felt called to speak on the Timely agendas and the Do Not Worry's. At the end of the service the minister presented myself and the other summer worker with a card and some $$$. He asked the congregation to be in prayer for both of us because I wouldn't be returning to school (due to $$$$$$$$) and the other girl was leaving the church she served full time. These are great people that I've worshiped with this summer, I really knew they'd be praying. Sunday night a car pulled into my driveway at 9:30 me and my cranky self wanted nothing to do with visitors but nobody else was around to answer the door. I was suprised to see someone that I hadn't seen for over a year, before I went to Lincoln last summer. I really wanted to catch up, she how she was, see how her family was... She was very quick to sit me down and say that this night wasn't about her or that it wasn't about me but that it was about a bigger plan that God had in store. She said that she had been meaning to see me all summer and she knew that she wasn't going ot sleep unless she spoke to me that night. She went on to describe a journey that God has been leading her through since April. She was feeling called to support me and pray for me and as God continued to place this on her heart she kept asking specifically how she was to be involved. God led her to reexamining her finances and eventually she understood that God was calling her to support me in that way. After she told me this I said you don't understand even with your support I still can't afford to finish my last year. I went on to tell her how the year was a total blessing but a huge drain on me financially. She said, "Jen, I want you to remember that passage in Matthew where God promises us that he will take care of the birds of the air and the grass of the field. You Jen are more important than they are and God has bigger plans for you. Jen, just don't worry." She went on to say that the calling God has placed in her heart is also bigger than I thought. "Jen, God has called me to pay for your entire year. This is my investment in the kingdom."

Phew! To say the least this has been a crazy couple of weeks for me as I stand in awe of how big God really is. As if that isn't cool enough...I was driving home a few days later and I was trying to come up with some excuses as to why I couldn't do correspondence this semester when I thought to myself I don't have a computer, I can't do what I need to do without a computer. I get home, get the mail and there's a check from a couple in the church with enough money for me to take care of that. So there ya go. Proof that we never know what's in store when God is around the corner.
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine through the power of his Holy Spirit that is at work in us. To him be the glory..." Eph. 3:20
